    Hi Guys,
I have been researching valve springs for my 5.7 Hemi and quite frankly it is doing my head in. The background is that I am running a 112-500-11 comp cam. When built we used the behive springs recommended to go with this = comp cam 26918-16. Unfortunately one of the springs broke and you can see what the result was as per the attached photos. My plan is to use another make of spring as I have no confidence in what I have already used. So does anyone have recommendations for springs? The heads are factory standard and not any sort of aftermarket. Appreciate any recommendations you may have. Yep and if you are wondering about the valve cover picture with the crack that is the oil filler cap. I converted the motor to a distributor carb set up.

What year heads do you have? I would think early because you have the aluminum valve cover. Don't have much experience with Comp stuff. I can tell you PAC springs are top notch.

Thankfully I got lucky. The spring broke and a push rod was bent but nothing was sucked into the engine.

1511's from pac. erik storm can get you the kit you need with the huge spacers to run them. best bang for the buck and no reported failures to day on gen3 hemis. i have them for mine and im shooting for 1500+rwhp in about a month. stock retainer can be used as well.

Keep you hands off the springs... many builders use gloves when handling valve springs as they can rust from handling and fail...

this is the first i have ever heard this before. i have handled triple springs with 400 seat pressure and 1000 open. i wear latex gloves to keep the oil off my hands but never worried a out coated tool steal springs failing from being handled.
