can anyone tell me if the vent window rubber on your car have a gap on both sides of door skins

Yes, on the outside for sure,
Took my vent window out of my 67 convertible, and could not figure out what was keeping it in the door frame, turned out to be black sealer between the rubber seal and the door body on the outside. I would have expected the seal to have a part that overlaps the door but nope!
First time that vent window has been out since manufacture, don't know if it was a Dad special or factory, but the color was the same as the rubber, had no idea it was there.
Driver's side

Pass side was never out of the car

so is that sealer like from a tube or a rubber piece as a filler ?

Like a tube, again I don't know if it was OEM or if my dad added it sometime in the past. It was matte colored and the same color as the rubber.
