there is NO NO way the sound in the video comes close to showing you what the in person sound is.

It's not sound, it is a pressure wave that is both heard and felt. The old track at Las Vegas was excellent for getting a lasting impression from the fuel cars. On the pit side you could stand less than 10 feet from the near car on the line. Just don't stand inline with the exhausts, blower belt, or the spark-plugs....

I haven't been to Spokane since the demise of Oriville Moe, but the thing was "in a pit" that is the stands were poured concrete which "locked the sound" in. Jezuz was that a pressure wave!!!
