I’m trying to get information from my vin number but keeps saying it’s invalid. I’m getting the number from bottom windshield driver side. Is this correct?

Just Google oneof these up

There is something odd about that VIN, the 4th digit is an F and according to krazykuda's post that indicates a poly 318. As far a I know, a poly motor was never available in a 68 Barracuda.

@dadsbee , take a look at the above post #5 from krazykuda. It clearly shows that is the 4th digit is an F that is a poly 318. I'm not trying to confuse the issue, I'm just going by the posted VIN decoder.

D68 shows " standard rear axle"

What was that for 318 4 speed.

Also did the 318 engine also come with a duel point. The way I understand it all 69 born with a 4 speed came with dual points. But i'd like to verify that too.

Are we combining threads, or you're just in the wrong one Joe?? :poke:

Thanks for your help Joe Camper, I didn’t get a lot of information on this car, it was built from 3 cars. The engine is a 360 came out a 71 Cuda, been ported and blueprinted aluminum heads 425hp.Built for strip, I’m turning it into a driver…

I realize that you belive this to be true, but 318A engine sales ended in 1966 in the US, and some 318A were sold in Canada in 1967. All 1968 versions were LA, and on the Barracuda were designated with F in the VIN. I've owned three with this, including a parts car sitting outside.
This car came out of Canada, and was built out of 3 cars and probably did have a 318 originally. Has a 360 out of 71 Cuda ported and blueprinted aluminum heads. It’s a beautiful car 20 feet away, I’ve got the interior removed in process of replacing, have some electrical problems so I’ve purchased all the wiring and interior. Trying to find a body and paint shop with no luck, has a little rust. Got a bid for repair 17,000. to much. If know any one in Amarillo let me know…Again thanks….
