The electronic voltage regulator in my Dart has bit the dust and thought I would ask y'all where to buy one. Should I just go down to the parts house or is there a good place to buy online? Seems like I can remember reading about looking for a certain number (?) on the regulator!
Anyhow knew that this is the place to come for help.

.........Or if there is a junk yard with older carbureted vehicles get a used one that "looks good." I've got a couple around here, still work, were OEM new in ?? 72--75 and still work, and the potting is not disintegrating

I scored a couple Mopar branded ones a few years back. They came from a dealer. Heck, they may still be available. I think it was like this one.

My potting material melted out in a zip lock bag this summer, while overhauling my 318 and repaint of the engine bay. I have 2 stock Mopar ones, used will find out if they are any good.

An electronic type is likely more reliable. The later cars ~1971+ have that, with the triangle connector. You can get an electronic type with connectors for the 1960's cars, for direct hook-up. Some come in a case which appears OE. Most replacements are electronic. If it doesn't have resistors on the back, it is electronic. Best to run a dedicated ground wire to the mounting screw for both types.

I replaced mine with a Duralast VR733 from AutoZone about 12 years ago. No troubles to date.
