    I have a 1976 W100 4x4 with a 4 speed and a 360 engine . The W100 cab is rusted out , shot , too far gone .
I was thinking of putting the W100 360 and 4 speed in my 68 small block automatic Barracuda
Would the combo work coming from a 4x4 W100 ??
    Any thoughts appreciated

Not sure the trans or bellhousing will work. Picture?

No. The W100 likely has the NP435 and that won't fit in the A body transmission tunnel.

If that trans is like most 4 spds in pickups of that era it's probably the un-synchronized 1st gear variety. Over weight 3 spd that can be used to pull stumps on occasion

The NP435 "just won't fit" in an A body. I can think of zero reason why you'd want it to anyway. Maybe doing a 4x4 conversion. lol

I will not fit, plus to actually use the trans, you would also have to use the transfer case.

The 360 will fit, of course, but, you'd need to get all the small block car parts to make it work. Pan, pickup, dip stick and tube, engine mounts, brackets, exhaust manifolds, transmission, etc.....

Alot of W-series had one piece rear drive shafts, but they did use a slip yoke.

A 435 or 445 with a slip yoke? Never seen that setup. All the ones I've ever seen had a flanged output and 2 piece splined shaft. Do you have a photo of one with a slip yoke?

I could take one, I would have to crawl under my dads W150 he bought new, next time I go up to his pace. His is all stock 360/435/203.

Its alot of work but couldn't you swap the out put shaft and tail housing to the truck unit and then it would go in the a body...? In other words, the truck trans would work with an A body output shaft and tail housing ...

              .
A bodies never came with a truck transmission so where would you find an output shaft and housing? The other thing is the 360 in the truck probably has the 11 in flywheel and bigger bellhousing than what the cars came with.

For any of y’all who are curious, here’s a 2 wheel drive/ divorced transfer case version I have I just dropped off to get rebuilt.
It would be totally useless in a car. It’s almost worthless in my ‘74 4x4 to a point where I’m lookin to move my transfer case & crossmember back, and remove the under bed fuel tank and place a fuel cell in the bed, to make room for a standard A833.

Yup, those are like the 2WD transmissions. They married them to the transfer case in '75. I actually liked the divorced setup better as they came stock with locking front locking hubs instead of the full time setup.

X2 a way better set up. I hate changing those full time wheel bearings.

What about the lift kit for the car to keep that big old trans and transfer from dragging the ground.
