    New to my W2 Intake Collection !
    NOS Holley Pro Dominator Tunnel Ram.

    That gives me a NOS M1 Dual Plane , NOS Edelbrock Victor and this dominator with both 4150 and 4100 top plates..
    If only I could find an LD 340 W2...

      I don't remember seeing one of the LD340W2s, but feel free to post pics of the others! I think that would be a lot of fun with a pair of 750 street dominators.

              That would be great .

              Now if only they made a STR W2...
              I found a Chevy STR-10 for $750. I wonder if it would be possible to modify one for W2s ?
              A project for another lifetime maybe.

                How do the smallblock STR intakes perform in comparison to a conventional tunnel ram? I've heard of poeple modifying Air Gap intakes to go on W2 heads so maybe its only a matter of welding up and grinding away at the port mouth? Need to see a W2 intake gasket laid on top of a stock head. Take some gumption to cut on a $2500 (or whatever they go for) STR-12.

                  I have no experience with crossrams. Just like the look.
                  I would not cut up a Mopar STR .... but apperently they sold quite a few of the Chevy small block ones .

                    I've acquired an old crusty sacrificial TM-5 that I plan on disecting for the base plate and plenum top to build a direct port air-gap cross ram out of with the injector rails under the runners aimed straight at the intake valves, but I've still got things to do before I can get it into a bandsaw to start the process. It was worth $50 to do that with it.

                    the reason I mentioned a Chevy manifold is that I know there are similarities between LA mopar and small block chevies... I dont know what the runner placement and bolt pattern differences are though.

                        Maybe with a mill, and a shaper would help. But there would be so much additional aluminum needed that it would be easier to machine the places needing built up smooth and welding blocks of aluminum plate in place. It would be easier to buy a small block Mopar aluminum manifold base kit from Weinle and dissect the Chevrolet out of the manifold and fit and weld the difference. It’s beyond what I want to attempt, and I’m borderline insane half the time, if not more... it’s a shame that aluminum is so difficult to properly vent in a casting mold. If it weren’t, almost everything would have been made out of it a long time ago.

                        Couldnt you build up areas with a TIG and use a shim spacer between the intake and head?

                        Probably, but that is going to be a lot of TIG time and rod, but it's going to be the same either way. I don't know what the exact width difference is put you may be able to mill the manifold flanges to near nothingness and make a set of adapter plates, something like FE Ford to Cleveland Ford manifold but not nearly as dramatic.

                        But I would bet if anyone knows anything about taking a manifold off of something else and adapting to a Mopar, PISTHA either knows about it or knows someone who does. I wasn't inspired about building a small block manifold until I looked at his combination homemade art and science projects on his home page. I did come very close to constructing something a lot like his slant six manifold before, though, but it never made it past the "sketch stage".

                          Well, that’s a whole lot less complicated than what I was imagining! A hard life spent doing munincipal work will lead one to overengineer several times over and reinvent the wheel all at once...

                          W2s have wider bolt spacing and may line up a little better. I am curious as to how you addressed the coolant hole alignment.

                          I had the plates made but never started in the port or bolt work.
                          The water port alignment can be made to work.
