I'm just throwin this out there. I know there are people that'll shoot down any idea but here it is. We're losing too many members. Through death and "just disappearing". I think we should start exchanging contact information. We could keep tabs on each other better. If someone falls off the map, we'd at least have a contact number and or address. No doubt some of yall would never participate, but I sure would. Maybe name, number, address and spouses name? I consider a lot of you here real friends and not just a name on the internet. Just something to argue about.

RustyRatRod is 90% of the reason I don’t post on the board hardly ever, the other 10% is the stupid **** that has nothing to do with Mopars.

Anybody else feel the same way?

Anybody else feel the same way?
I don’t.
Rusty just tells it like it is sometimes.
You have to have thick skin and not take things personally.

He gave me his phone number years ago just so he could explain something to me that I wasn’t sure about.

I called him and had a conversation rather than pm’s back and forth.

It would be good to have a way to check in on other members like some over the last several months that we haven’t heard from who were active.

Why i try and keep up with a few member's.
And agree. We are all everyday getting older, slower and can't do what we used to.
I just had surgery and was told 5 months do really anything.
Maybe I should have gotten the Steve Austin Surgery.
Could have ended up stronger, faster than I was before. Was just short the 6 million dollars

I hope you have a good recovery.

With inflation and advanced technology of today, it would probable cost a billion dollars to rebuild Steve Austin. LOL

I do PM a couple of members on here and sometimes it's just to check on how they are doing. As RRR said it's probably a good idea to be able to check on each other.

But he told me he's been around the sun 61 times and knows better! Blasphemy!

Man, the echo in this echo chamber is amazing. He's alright and has enough support.

I've learned alot about engine building that I never heard of and you all were great about sharing your knowledge and experiences, again I think that it's a good idea to be able to get in contact with others not just for the hobby but to check on our fellow brother's and sisters.

When you have been a member here a long time. I've actually been here since 2005.
You read a lot of members posts , and pretty much know their personality.
Everyone goes off script on occasion.
I take some with a grain of salt. Some as just harmless poking.
The others I just try to let those roll of my back.

I started here almost 3 years ago. Was on a few months before I found the place was more of a pissing contest than helpful. Then I got accused out of the blue for trying to sell something outside of the "selling forum".. which I wasn't doing. The OP was just not smart enough to read what I wrote correctly. So I went quiet until about a month ago. Just lurking.

Since then this place has mellowed out a bit. The riff raff seemed to resolve itself. So I contribute again. At least until it becomes intolerable again. I'm here to learn and share. That's what a forum is for. Many forget that, as well as their manners.

Well you could always try Moparts but ya gotta join a Fratt and be in the in group to be one of the cool people

There's a lot of mopar forums. I like this one because it's more specific. But to fit into a frat? Don't get me wrong, I've gotten to know a few people here and they're cool. People in general are decent. But you'll never like everyone or be liked by everyone. As a young lad, my parents had to move out of a neighborhood because I managed to tick off the entire subdivision we lived in (long story, not worth explaining). I learned that I have a knack to aggravate people. Do I do it all the time? No. I'd rather get along with people. It's better to have friends.

But to fit into a frat to be able to be accepted? I'm a "like it or leave it" person. I'm also a great person to know, but the worst person to tick off. I'm sure there's people on here that can relate with that attitude.

His point was that the Moparts site is somewhat like a "club" where people often treat you like an outsider if you're not well liked.
The staff is equally guilty of that there.
That site USED to be the King of the Mopar sites. Shitty moderators, a stupid, misguided site owner and poor management in terms of half page ads across the screen made the site a dinosaur now in addition to the way that many frequent contributors treat those that they don't like.
These forums are often populated with dudes that are online every day, guys that comment about matters but never do anything, dudes that profess to know the "correct ways" to fix cars but never actually work on them anymore.
This forum does have a few that fit that description but Moparts was far worse.
I like to read from the members that actually still do things, the ones that report on a brake upgrade, an engine rebuild, an electrical fix or a day at the racetrack.

Haven`t seen Dell post in a while, hope he`s alright.
I talk to him occasionally on the phone. He's good.

Ok, Yall can just forget the idea then. If any of us disappear or croak, to hell with it. Mods feel free to close or delete this. I should have known better. I won't bring it up again.

It’s the posting of bad info over and over again by members that don’t care they are wrong no matter what proof you put in front of them even if it was in print by the guy that has been there and done that.

No actual engine builder & non machinists giving out the stupidest advice as if they have done it while thinking they are 100% correct even though it’s so stupidly dead wrong you that know better wonder if they are actually brand X fans trying to sabotage the build.
