Thought of this while I was changing the trunk lock cylinder of my '67 cuda. When you go up to your mopar, which way does the groove of your key enter the cylinder? Up or down? :-k

I checked my doors and ignition and the keys also enter the cylinder with the grooves facing up. I'd rather have the grooves of the keys facing down. Do I simply flip the cylinders around? So, which is the correct way...up, down? :dontknow:

Not sure why you would want the "tumblers" facing up instead of down.

I guess if you're like Henry Ford (second, third, whichever it was) who had them come up with the double sided key cause he was to drunk to get the key in the lock you could try to retrofit Ford mechanisms in your Mopar:toothy10:

and, for the record, one of the strangest questions "I've" ever asked was "How high is UP?"

If the teeth are pointed up, the tumblers are on top, keeps water out of them, thus preventing them from freezing up?

Guy comes up to me at a gas station on the way to the Mopar Nationals and asks..'Wow, is that a 1975 Nova? I had one just like it except mine was white !!!"

I kindly replied that is was a 73.
