Well my life has changed forever.

Very cool! I found him and listened to a few, VERY talented. Not sure if you have access to Dads Boobtube account, but that is his digital property and you may want to claim it(one way or another).
He has a bunch of copies everywhere but ya i think I know what you mean

My Condolences.
Where Exactly in Alaska are you. Anywhere near Delta Junction?

You have my condolences. He'll be with you every step of the way during your build, and you're going to make him proud.

Making progress. Everything fits just right. The 440 actually looks kinda small to me.. maybe its cause i have dreams of a large hemi haha I swapped the oil pan the my spare 187 pan my 400 came with. And yes the engine bay is black. I bought the car painted. Dont worrie, it will be back to its original b5 blue, when I have the time too paint it. Unfortunately sometime in its life, the fender was swapped and the tag with it. But fortunately that was the only body pannel swapped. Besided the entire drivetrain, the rest of the body is original. And thats not bad for an 100% alaskan car

I'll take photos of the original paint in random spots, I think its b5 blue? But I would like help identifying it. And to get her back to the color she use to be.

For now, itll be a 440 overdrive, with unknown rear end gears. It actually got about 34 36 mpg with the slant on the highway here in alaska. Lest see what a 68k 78 rv 440 will get when I swapped the oil pan it was spotless inside. Perfect forward and backward crank and rod lash. I will be swapping the nylon timing gear shortly...

I just can't believe how easy this swap is... I mean ya there's alot of weird tedious things, but I can't wait! It'll be my first ofical big block!
