Update, the engine is running real smooth and no more knocking
Looks great. Good fix!
Scored a complete front end for a 68 to 72 A body yesterday
Finshed the fencing project with my brother yesterday. Replaced all the rotted wood with steel.
Not just today, but all weekend. Work on the Duster seems endless but the list is getting shorter. Fitted the fiberglass hood on hinges with low tension springs. Set up the shifter and made the KD linkage work with the TTIs. Tie rods, alignment. Installed driveshaft and some other garbage underneath. It all runs together now.
Removed the exhaust, wire brush and cleaned the underbody. Getting closer to reassembly. Planning to use Eastwood encapsulator underneath
Knocking some rear spring clamps off and adding some drag shocks in preparation for test & tune this coming Saturday! Hope to get a bunch more little things ready too! Cley
Cruise-in & car show in Willow Springs, Mo. (about 20 miles away). Had been scheduled for yesterday but showers and clouds postponed to the rain date... free burgers/dogs/pulled pork provided again, but this year we had to pay $1 for sodas. Not a problem This tankful, with one drive to town and back and today's 65-70 mph run up to Willow, actually broke 10 mpg (7.26 gal, 73.5 miles). All that carb tuning seems to have paid off T-Bird, T-Bucket, and what may have been the only Mopar - my '72 Dart!
Just a 170 mile round trip to work in the Duster today. If a guy has to drive that far it might as well be fun! Cley
And I got 14.5 mpg! Cley
Got my new transmission yesterday, mated it to my stroker sb. It's going in real soon!!! I can't wait. I think it's pretty!
I meant to share this. This guy is a regular at Cars & Coffee etc. He drives this car everywhere! Cley
Ignoring it while I work on my Ford.
Yalls are all getting some good work done !!!!! Cheers
Got some tuning done. First run in the Demon for the year.
Install some new seats, and sound/heat insulation.
I was going to put my motor/transmission back in my 67, but then I realized I didn't have the shield! Ordered one from classic and it will be here tomorrow.
Took the wife on a Mother's Day ride around town in our 66 Barracuda!
Underbody sealed up... PITA but now feel good about getting at replacement of brake lines.. All that scrubbing and degeeasing paid off. I'm happy with it
Thank you ... the prep was brutal. Great to see the payoff finally.
I remember seeing your posts while working on it. I also know how brutal mine will be if I ever decide to do it.
Made huge progress on the duster. Finally added brake fluid to the system and bled brakes. Changed out the slant torsion bars for 340 bars. Put a few gallons of gas in the new fuel system. Cranked her over and fired the engine! Had my 5yr old add 5 qts of trans fluid. (He was so excited to see it run!) Ran it through all gears (on jack stands) which was the first time it has turned it rear wheels on it's own power since early 2000's! Huge milestones today. Getting real close to finishing body and paint.
Congratulations, man. I can only look forward to those milestones waaaay down the road.
