I know not everybody drives their A-Bodies in the Snow (despite that thread showing some trekking through the slush :D ) So what do most of you guys run in the slop? Bonus points if it's actually a Dodge, but I won't deduct any if you're running (rusting) a cheby or furd in the snow :D

I have 2 current Winter beaters, a '92 Dodge Dakota and '84 Dodge D50

5.2L Mag, A518, NP231, 7.25"/8.25" with 3.23's and 30" XTC Winter Treads. 8.5' Snow Plow, Fiberglass Top/Cap and Stone/Ballast in the Bed. Weighing in at 7,900 Pounds in full winter gear

Former Turbo Diesel Truck, Now : 273 Small Block, 904 Automatic (TF-2 Shift Kit & Slapstik Shifter), 4.10's with 40" Tires, 10k Winch, Tube Bumpers, 6" of Lift, Cut Fenders, Rocker Guards/Sliders, Dumpbed Subframe/Dumping Bed

For fun it sports 40" Tires (recent picture)

For work it sports 32" Tires (old picture)

Hard to believe when you look at that picture, but the D50 is supposed to be the smaller truck (A Mini / Small Truck) and The Dakota is supposed to be the bigger truck (Mid-Size) :D

Just an average every day looking quad cab Dakota, an 2003 4X4 v6. Gotta love it in the snow. Sorry, no picture. Lost'em in the crash.

Never had to worry about snow until now I will see what gets driven my Van or my Valiant.

all I have is my Barracuda or 59 Suburban. I need ot install the posi in the Sub and swap tranny out for tranny/xfer and then get a front driveline and there will be no question, it will be the Suburban.

Always gotta have a 4x4 around here.

Example... An overnight storm a few years ago, Went to bed at midnight (flurries, no snow on the ground) and woke up at 4am to find this. Also forgot to put the plow on the truck the night before, thinking I'd get it in the morning :eek:ops: Spent 45 minutes trying to find the plow under the snow :eek:ops:

By 6am it had dumped a somewhere around 3.5' to 4' of snow on the ground. The lil '87 Red/Black D50 (former plow truck, may it rust in peace) was the only truck on the road that day, not even the state plow trucks were out :D Watched a Hummer get stuck in someone's driveway though, It was hilarious.

The '96 Dodge 4 x 4

She's got 211,000 miles on her now.

This was last year.

My winter beater is a 96 Mercury Mystique with a DOHC V6, nice snappy car. I would rather drive a brand x car in the snow and have that rust than use any Mopar I own!! My wife is lucky, she gets the 07 Durango :D

.....I actuall y dont have any winter beaters.....but i drive a 89 short box d150 2 wheel drive, or my 2001 ram 2500 quad cab diesel 4x4...........kim........

One of my convertibles

Top down of course, unless it gets really really cold, like below 60 :)

Nice, I'm a die-hard D/W (and AD/AW) truck fan myself. I have a '76 Ramcharger and a '75 W300 ClubCab Towtruck. And a "Few" others as well.

I have to beater.
I have my 1998 Dakota 5.2L and my 1993 Shadow 2.5L.

Mainly the Shadow gets driven lol.

It rarely snows in my part of the country but we get lots of rain to make up for it. So during the winter months I cruise in a 92 Dodge Grand Caravan. 185,000 miles and still going strong.

I learned last year the 40" military tires on my Fargo aren't the greatest in the snow, so unless I change the tires I run, its cut.

My 65 Valiant is actually really good at driving in the snow, but stopping in the snow is a different story.

My 75 Ford 4x4 is really good in the snow, running 35" BF All Terrains.

I also drive my 66 /6 Sedan in the winter and she get's around good, I try and keep her off the roads when it is sloppy or slippery on the roads, but here in Arkansas the weather changes allot, We say to folks, If you don't like the weather here just wait it will change :glasses7:

D44-HD under the front of that of that '79 Ramcharger, Devil Dawg?

Kinda reminds me of my '76 Ramcharger... Only in much better shape, lol. Mine was bought new by my Grandfather in '76, which is the only reason I've kept it. Any other vehicle, I would have just bought a different one. So I bought a '79 Trailduster Tub to use for parts to restore mine

P0000002.jpg

S5001293.jpg

Recognize the tires? lol, they're the same ones on my little D50 now. I lucked out and the donor tub was the same exact color. Had a friend haul it up from North Carolina for me. The Tub & Top were pretty much beyond saving on my old one. And the engine was royally F'ed thanks to an ex-friend... He punched the ignition on my RC and tried to take it baja'ing through the woods...... while the oil pan and oil pump were laying on the garage floor!

Granted it was just a run of the mill 360 with milled J 2.02 Heads, but still that took balls to screw up the steering column and destroy the engine. Sooo I've got no choice but to swap in a '74 440/435/203 combo to replace it.... I almost say that like it's a bad thing, lol.

i drive this in the winter
