I'm preparing to reinstall some trim and realize I don't have any of the flexable plumbing putty like material to water seal the screws and nuts etc. In a pinch I have used plumbers putty knowing it is going to dry out quickly.

What do you all use?

What I used on my windshield clip screws, clear silicon. Small dab, it's clear, it's not brittle when it dries, easy to remove and clean up.

Literally every RV deal will have rolls of the putty strip caulking.
That's what I use.
Looks like this when you buy it, and it's very inexpensive.

The same stuff as for installing windshields. Black butyl strip caulk.

Thanks all. Anyone have a 3M part number for white? I googled and can only find black, which will work but...
