I went to the garage to find a fan for someone . While I was looking for it I started looking at other things totally forgetting about other items members wanted. Well I at least found the fan.

Then my Steve reminded me I have heads to clean.

I cleaned a set and saw some old shock parts in the blast cabinet. So, I went to put them away and one thing led to another and I started cleaning shock parts . that led to shock plates and then motor mounts and bolts.

Then Tony Hirschman stopped in with a set of NASCAR spindles to get trued. Once we started talking racing the day was over for all of us. This is why I don't get anything done. that I plan.

I can't even remember who asked for the fan. But I did remember the pig tails and the clutch for the clutch fan on the way up from the shop. Then when I sat down at the desk.. I had a note I write myself for like new backing plates. Well Tomorrows another day sorry Jim.

I know the feeling, I only get half what I planned on doing everytime I go to the shop, too many things to look at and play with!

I a starting to. My wife cannot get out of bed or do anything without a note to tell her what is next, it has burned me out on the whole "write it down" thing...

This brings a question, not that I need any. WHO made and WHERE did you get NASCAR spindles back in the day. And what did they use for hubs?

These are for a new car Tony Hirschman dropped off. I have no clue who's carthey are for?? and can't say. They are new spindles that take a different style rotor and brake caliper is what I heard in conversation. All I know is Steve trues the caliper mount to the spindle for a caliper mount that has pins. He does these all the time for Tony Hirschman and Matt.

We are friends of the family for many tears. They own a Nascar shop down the road and helped me on my Duster. been going there since grade school. My dad was good friends with his dad . I am good friends with him and my son is friends with his son. They owned a junk yard and I still have cars there since I was in school. I am going down to get parts off of two of them when the weather breaks.

What always seems to get me going in a different direction is when I have to move some items to get to the one I want. If I am looking for something that is in front of the other parts then I have no problem!

When searching for something, my problem used to be that I would find something else which I thought was important enough to put somewhere safe. That became a problem when I actually needed that part, I could remember where I found it but not where I put it. I finally learned to not move those finds.

I mowed the lawn today...I could have done it tomorrow! I ended up cleaning the jet of the carb because the Fn thing would run for more than 3 seconds. Pulled the bowl and 1/2 teaspoon of black sludge was at the bottom of the bowl. cleaned that out along with the jet and put it back together (had to pull the air cleaner off) started it back up, ran for 5 minutes then died again. Pulled the jet again (this time I just pulled the bowl from under the air cleaner) and cleaned again with a little more crap in the bowl) and then it ran fine. I want to install a fuel filter but the carb feed hose is only 4 inches long and a straight shot from the tank. Maybe I can find a small 90 degree one, it really needs it as it doesn't get used all that often in the winter here.

I have a ''good idea'' where everything is at all times.
However, it sometimes takes me 3 hours to find something because somebody always moves it to a better location.
                            Yeah, ''somebody''...

                              Just my 2 cents,
Pull the fuel tank and clean it out? Maybe a fine mesh screen at the tank neck?

No fine screen is gonna catch this stuff. Its like black talcum powder mixed with gas. I think an inline will help me,like this, but maybe with a little shutoff valve too so I can run it dry for storage.

                                Wheres the black fuel?
In the tank, or is a rubber fuel line degrading internally?
