On a 225 slant six,A230 3 speed transmission, with clutch pushed down to floor, what type of separation should I have between flywheel and pressure plate, about 1/8 inch?Putting reverse into gear will often grind transmission, especially after car is heated up.I have read the many threads prior, and know there could be many, many reasons, but the simplest is that the clutch linkage isn't adjusted enough to enable the disc to be free. The disc moves freely, but still touches the flywheel and pressure plate with clutch fully down to floor.I also have chatter with the clutch just being pushed down partially.I believe it is a lousy throw out bearing, even though it is new.I also did not have the flywheel trued when the clutch (press. plate, disc, and throw out bearing) was replaced!!!
