how does the balancing work?

and on the next small block that i install into the car -are there different levels of strength in a flywheel-clutch-throwout bearing that are purchase-able?

if the next rotating assembly is balanced will be able to use the stock flywheel with a high end clutch?

can i screw up when purchasing a high end clutch? - a friend of mine bought one and could only shift in a certain (HIGH) rpm band...

-thanks in advance to all the contributors here in fabo for sharing!

-oh yeah, its a street car that i plan on driving like i stole it-i want to abuse the living hell out of it-thanks again:burnout:

The 340 flywheel that year has 1 or 2 big holes drilled into it to match the external balance of the engine. Most aftermarket clutches are fairly close on balance but not perfect. If I build an engine, I send in the clutch assy with the rest of the reciprocating parts so everything gets balanced together. For your application, I would go with something a little heavier duty than stock but not a race clutch. They can be miserable on the street.
