Hey all. I have a 73 Dart Sport 340 4 speed. Having trouble keeping it cool. I know what the problem is, just look at the pics. Dont beat me up too bad... The car came with this radiator in it. The core dimension is 18 x 26, 3 rows. I think its from a B body or C body. It just fits between the frame rails. The lower support has been cut to accommodate the height. I know the fan does not have enough coverage for the rad. I want to put something closer to stock back in it but, I dont know what its suppose to have. I bought a radiator last year that was suppose to be for an A body but it fell through the hole in the rad support. The hole in the support is 26 inches wide by 17 inches tall. I want to put a radiator and fan shroud in it with a mechanical fan, probably a clutch fan. I could really use some help here. Its to expensive to "spend and try". The pulleys appear to be 7 1/4 crank and 7 pump. so I should be good there. No a/c. Specs, 340 mild Summit 1789 cam, aluminum heads, milodon HV pump, high flow thermostat, 4 speed, 3:55 gears.

that fan is woefully inadequate.

so your fix is upgrade to a pair of fans that push beaucoup air (contour fans are a popular and affordable choice), OR revert everything to stock with a shroud and clutch fan set up. which you may or may not have the clearance with how thick that radiator is, so you may have to buy another to make everybody work together correctly.

I wouldnt mind going back to stock. I need part numbers for shroud.i also think there was a 26 inch or 22 inch option. Is that right?

It varied but I think by '73 26" was an option.
Go to the Cooling section of the '73 Chassis Service manual.
There's a chart in the chapter or at the end showing all of the combinations for that year. Most years that includes the pulley ratio for that combination.

The 1970s radiators and shrouds are a little more available than the 'bubble tops'.
Your car's radiator does seem to be mounted a bit further away from the front support than factory. Could just be the photo.

It is further away. Thats part of my problem. Looking for a stock replacement and shroud.
