I commented before the o.p. posted his goals, 13s at 6000 feet. Now, assuming he might one day run his car at 500 feet, and that it might run low twelves at that point, i think slicks, good shocks, and ss springs will easily get the job done. If he wants to spend more, for more performance anticipated down the road..... caltracs (or assasins, like those too) or ladders. More work, and more money than neccessary for op's goals.

I have used Super Stock springs with cars high 10s and slower with no issues. My current car is a backhalved ladderbar and runs mid 10s. It has a big tire and has no issues hooking in hot/cold or non perfect track prep. It really comes down to the intended purpose and ET of the car IMO.

Street/strip car - mid to high 10s and slower use Super Stock springs
Street/strip car mid 10s or faster or a drag car that you don't want to cut up use Caltracs
Strictly race car that you want to put a big tire on or or don't care to keep stock - Ladderbars

Yeah it's really not all that bad considering having a full race or mostly race car. I'm certainly not arguing that they don't work.....just that there are less expensive options that do work.

One thing I forgot to add to the survey are traction/slapper bars. I know they CAN work if set up correctly. How do ya'll feel about them?

I havent tried slappers on a mopar, but they made a world of difference on my 57 chevy with a four speed.
If you do try them on a mopar (i got no problem with that, whatever works for you) just make sure the snubber pad hits the front spring eye, not forward or behind.

Most slapper bars need to be fabricated to work on a Mopar.
I had custom made slappers on my 67 fastback and then graduated to a custom ladder setup.
        Both worked really good.
It was my street car daily driver in the late 70's, ran mid 11's at a buck 17 on slicks

I like them on the right thing in the right circumstance. I have a pair of the yeller Lakewoods I'm going to put on Vixen because they match the direction I'm going. Although I'm using them just for looks, they will be installed correctly so they will actually WORK.
