Just now attaching the glass to the mirror housing. I noticed when taking the old glass out, that it was still pliable after so many years. I'm thing RTV but don't want it to fall out later. I've noticed some mirror glue hardens, but don't want the mirror to get the shakes driving down the road. Thoughts on what the factory used?

I would call a glass shop and ask what they use.

What ever you use I would not put more on than what the factory did.

The factory used "glass tape". Any good glass shop has it and will sell it to you or you can order some on line. There are various thickness, so be sure to get the right thickness. Again, a glass shop can help you.

Thanks for the response. I was going to place a dab of liquid adhesive where the factory did. Not sure about tape but everything changes. Sometimes for the better. Now days, who knows? I will call the glass shop that cut my mirrors. They asked if I wanted them attached at the time but I wanted to paint them first. Thanks again.

You can see where there were 4 dollops of sdhesive.
