looks more like a jamb switch, im thinking trunk light? open deck lid switch opens light comes on. if it was a glove box light that switch would be in the fender.

The plastic lens goes into a round knockout in the side of the glove box. The unit runs down the side of the glove box and the lamp lines up with the white lens allowing light into the box. The switch button is activated by the glove box door.
