I got a 4 speed that I'm unsure of what it came out of.
Can any of you guys decode this for me?

Thanks!

And partial or full VIN if it has one on the passenger side of the case.

No partial vin.

They guy said it was a hemi 4 speed but I think he is full of it.

That an early ball and trunnion A833. Take a picture of the flat pad on the passenger's side of the case with a CLEAR shot of the stamped numbers.

I think he was also. A hemi 4 speed would have an 18 spline input shaft. It is a 65 or earlier.

So where exactly is the flat spot with the vin?

The flat that mates to the tail shaft?

There's a pad on the passenger side on the lower Bottom by the bottom bolt hole scrub it with a wire brush and they'll be some numbers

64 was not slip yoke, 66 was.
I believe the 65 automatic was a cable shift, slip yoke, one year only tranny but the 4 speed had the trunnon not a slip yoke.

LOL I meant to type 65. I believe you are correct.

Our 65 Satellite 383 4 speed car was ball & trunnion, it was bought new in Jan. 1965. It had the same transmission in it (still have the trans), we changed it to slip yoke during restoration 3 years ago.
