I have a milodon single line external pick up and hv pump and the 9 quart super stock pan .
Milodon says that set up is good for 7k rpm.
Is that a fact or is that a sales strategy to scare me into buying the next step up ?
I'd hate to find out the hard way and I don't think my engine will see 7k and if it does it will be towards the end of the 1/4 mile.
Anyone have any experience with this?

I have run 7500 thru the lights with a single line given
everything else is top shelf in the engine with a stock stroke
440 or 383.

I have run 340's with stock oil pans, oil pump and pickup to 6,500 RPM's with no issues, so I would say that Milodon is quite conservative in stating 7,000 RPM with a 9 quart oil pan, an external pickup, and HV pump. Remember that Chrysler built the 340 as a 6,000 RPM engine as it came from the factory.

Thanks John, my stuff is pretty decent internals also, I'm running a 3.915 stroke though
