Ok, so we got a call from Nic a while ago. We went thru some ideas on this and that. Then one day I got a shipment from him. He bought a 383 engine with a bunch of used parts and he tells me, "I want a 383 stroker!" Ok Nic lets do it!

This is what happened after we talked a while, so please sit back and enjoy :happy1:

383 block sonic tested very well, so we went to 4.310" bore
    A 3.91" stroker crank
My good freinds at RaceTec hooked me up with a killer set of Custom flat tops
    PEP I beam rods 6.700"
Used RPM head got a good work over, 80cc final chamber
    PRW Stainless Steele roller rockers
    3/8 pushrods
    Lunati solid roller cam
    MRL solid roller lifters
Used RPM intake worked over a little as well
    Used MP black valve covers
Used Milodon Road Race oil pan
    MP windage tray
    ARP main studs/head bolts
NEW Billet steel main caps, stock one were messed up from previous builder(???)
All topped off with a NEW FAST EZ EFI 2.0 and a Daytona Ignition system

Before we get into the nitty gritty I have to give MASSIVE props to the guys at FAST. The New 2.0 T-body system is just KILLER. So easy to install and use, so damn easy to adjust and it worked absolutely perfect! I wish more of you guys would use these over carbs, they are super nice. I have used 3-4 different EFI systems over the years, this one is the BEST!

Ok now that I got that out of the way, lets talk Turkey gobble gobble

500TQ at 3000, not bad. 550TQ at 3500, still not bad. 590+TQ 4000-4500 Pretty Darn Good!

    500HP at 4400, nice. 550HP at 4850, real nice. 585+HP 5400-5950 Git R Done!

So it made some good power and Im very Happy! Actual peaks are as follows

    593HP 5700rpm
    597TQ 4300rpm

Can you put up the dyno run sheet so we can see the F/A numbers and BSFC please.

I have been considering changing the 416 to EFI if/when it gets into the fish.

Awesome build-I dig the EFI. I thought about looking into one of these for mine, but really wanted to hear some more feedback on them before dropping the requisite $2500 (or more depending on system).

Its alot of money, Summit has it for $2296. Where do you get your speed parts in Hawaii?

Summit ships here, but I don't know any speed shops and my toy is back in Texas...I want to leave here with no debt other than my mortgage, so car parts take a back seat to my immediate issues...not to mention I'm eligible for retirement in about 2 years from the AF

Gotta love it right? I'll probably buy one when I'm that far along, but I have nearer crocodiles to my canoe...

I do not have the BSFC numbers as I have to run a stand alone fuel tank setup for EFI and I dont have it plumbed into the fuel meter on the dyno. Maybe in the future. I did have the A/F set up for 13.5 to 1 at idle, 14.0 to 1 at light load cruise and 12.2 to 1 WOT.

I tried 13.3-12.0 A/F at WOT and it made the most average power at 12.2. The hand held device for the EFI shows the A/F ratio and it was pretty solid in the 12.4-12.1 for all the pulls after it took a set.

This little 456 might even make over 600HP once he gets it into the car with those Sweet Ass TTI headers and some more "Learn" time. I could not run the TTI's on the dyno, they would not clear as they shoot towards the middle. Great for in the car, not so much on the dyno.

Cam is a Voodoo solid roller 243/249 .578/.585 lift. Nice cam for Fat Bottom end.

There are tons of 383's around still. Lets not let them go to waste. You dont have to have a 440 or 400 to make big power. 600/600 all in by 5700? Its a no brainer!

I saw the headers in the pic and was wondering how you dyno'd it...lol.
I just delivered the 496 (4.25 stroke, +030) I just did. Small custom solid flat tappet as this is going to look stock with manifolds. Idles at 850 like a kitten. Dyno test will be in the car after the Musclepalooza in NY. I anticipate a similar torque curve. If we can even call it a curve.
Does that EFI come with the fuel pump/system or is it just the throttle body, controller, and wiring/sensors?

I think the FAST and FAST 2.0 kits can be bought either as "tuner" kits minus pump/regulator/etc or as complete kits including the fuel system.

Either way, I'd love to have one. No more jets, metering rods, bog off idle. Nice thought.

Sweet build, the FAST efi a different twist. The low & mid range numbers always go off the chart,on the low deck strokers. Sweet numbers, across the board.

We went with the in-tank fuel pump. The kit comes with the regulator and all the hoses. We also used the FAST Dual Sync distributor. The FAST computer controls the timing including the vacuum advance. The dizzy just supplies crank position.

Solid roller, solid roller, solid roller. They really get it done. Why do we ever use anything else?

I know. I love them and with my lifters designed to survive on the street, no reason not to. Nice FAT power curves, every time!
