Wheel bearings

That seams like an accurate statement, or.............

Depends on the bearing.

Stock yes (cone and roller like front bearings)
Green no (sealed like ford 9")

Go to myMopar.com and download your cars factory survice manual

8 3/4 diff should the axle bearings be greased?
Yes and that reminds me, I need to pull mine and do that. They are a little noisy. I never worked at a Mopar dealer but I always thought they were lubed by the rear end lube. They are not.

that's why I asked
Or you can take out the tapered roller bearings and install "Green bearings" which are sealed double ball bearings. There are 2 different styles. I kind of like the flanged Mopar Performance style sold by Summit.

The grease seal between the bearing and the center section is a sure giveaway! :poke:

Yep. I owned many Mopars in the last 50 years and never had a 8 3/4 apart until a few years back. Never had to. LOL

If your real axle bearings are making noise, it's too late for grease to help them. You'll need some new ones.
