I recently finished building a 377ci SB with Diamond Pistons (11:1), Eagle Rods, Comp Cams (0.519 INT 0.524 EXH 250 / 256 duration @110 lobe separation), Edelbrock performer RPM heads (ported), RPM Air Gap Intake, and Edelbrock VRS-4150 850 carb with Hooker Competition Headers and an MSD dist with 7AL lightening box. Just this week, I found and was able to buy a Weiand 177 blower and intake for the sb that was just rebuilt by the Blower Shop.

Question: Do I build the blower motor now and remove $1800+ dollars of Diamond Piston and rings, or do I stay with naturally aspirated? If your answer is build the blower motor, what pistons and compression ratio, and what cam? I have been wanting a blower motor for 30 years and I finally have the blower (although the "baby" blower). Car is a 2300 lbs Duster (weekend racer and car shows). Hoping my MOPAR brothers and sisters will help with this difficult decision. Thanks, Kerry

Some info from Pro-Charger.

Basic Engine Building Specifications

Thanks Super-C and Murray. LOL...Sounds like find a new sb 360 casting and build a lower compression motor + add money or sell the blower.

The 377 Duster runs fairly strong on VP C12 Green at the track, 10.574 @ 130

Take the 377 out, put it on an engine stand and keep it. I sure would not take it apart, it would be cheaper and easier to build another short block. Unfortunately, you wouldn’t be able to sell it for the amount of money that you’d put into it. I’ve always wanted a 6-71 blown small block for the nostalgia reasons. The truth is your 377 would probably be just as quick as the blown motor.

Thank you for responding. I wouldn't want to sell it, as that is one of the best SB's I've had. I may simply find another 360 sb and build the blower motor. Keep them running and out of the bone yards!

Now you're thinking. Cool engines should be like guns. Always acquire, never sell.

Blower engines have their own set of issues, definitely keep your spare engine.
