I'm not going to install it i will have a shop do it so I'm looking for where to buy i did a search last night and came up with a few places that advertise they sell tops for my car. EZSofttops, Hydro-e-lectric, convertible top guys looks to have the best deal?? Do you guys have any others that you recommend? I'm going to need everything top, boot, well liner. What color is your top suppose to be??...blue?? My 67 Barracuda came with a medium blue top. My car color is EE1, Dark Blue Metallic. I've looked and looked and can't find one. Good luck, I'll be waiting for the comments.

      Legendary Auto Upholstery.

Might be a little more expensive but their products are first rate. I purchased my complete interior from them and the quality is phenomenal !!. Unfortunately, their website is not great but if you call them, the service is top notch!!

Beautiful Cuda convertible by the way!

I have a Legendary Top on my 300. The material is good quality and it fits well.

        e9KNoKu.jpg

That said, chances are very good that Legendary doesn't make the top. They probably have some other shop that specializes in convertible tops make the tops for them. You can't go wrong with buying from them though.

I've heard that many installers only want to install tops provided my their own suppliers. Might want to check with them and find out. Let us know if you're happy with the install. I need to do the top on my Dart. The local shop here wants 2k with new pads and a window. They do great work, but it's out of the budget right now.

I met with the old guy yesterday he has been doing installs for fifty years according to him he remembers doing tops when these cars were new so not sure what he is going to charge it just has to be done. I want to bring him some suggestions of where to buy the whole package

Nice cuda, very similar to mine. I grabbed my interior from Legendary and it is fantastic. I also need the top replaced and asked local Mopar enthusiasts. The majority recommended Legendary. I still haven't replaced it but will use Legendary when the time comes. I agree with AAndrews, the website is a little tough. But call them and the service will be great.

Here is another question for you guys sense i’m A first time owner of a convertible when you put the top down do you unsnap the well liner or will the top just lay on top of it? It wasn’t in the car when I got it so haven’t got a clue just curious
          Thanks

I stand to be corrected here but I thought the idea of the well liner was to protect the top in the lowered position as well as provide a place for any water off the top a place to run off. Doesn't it have drain hoses attached that run out of the bottom of the car?

Top Dust Boot snaps on over the top when the top is down from outside the car on the snaps that are visible when the top is up.
          upload_2018-2-13_12-47-16.png

The Well Liner remains snapped in place when the top is in the down OR up position
          upload_2018-2-13_12-49-20.png

The water drainage is handled by the metal rail around the the lip where the well liner snaps are located as I recall.

          other warnings

Well liner stays in place with top down. There's a trough around where the top attaches to the body like a gutter. I believe a hose directs it down into basically the rocker panels under the rear windows.

I don't think so at least on my 67 Dart. There is a drain rail that runs around the back.

This is the drain rail I am talking about. (I think this is a Barracuda)

              This is a Dart (68 I think)

The well liner always stays snapped in place. The "dust boot", or some call it the "parade cover", can be stored in the well liner when the roof is up and must be removed from there before lowering the roof. I don't think many people store it there. Most common is that you fold it nicely in your trunk.

Does anyone else recall a requirement to unzipping the glass before lowering the top?

You do not have to but it will lay down nicer when it is unzipped and it is less likely to get a crease in the plastic. Lowering the roof with the window zipped up will increase the chances of the window getting a kink or crease.

My brother had a 66 Sport Fury ragtop with a plastic rear window. He was told to unzip it before lowering the top. My 69 Fury III ragtop has a glass rear window and I have never unzipped my window to lower the top.

Btw - I found my top on ebay 15 years ago for 100 bucks. New old replacement stock. I'll never find a deal like that again on a top... It is not the high quality as Legendary is, but for 100 bucks I decided to try my own install. It really wasn't THAT hard to do. It's not perfect, but doesn't look hacked either. I should have used a heat gun to stretch the sail panels out better. Live and learn. I plan on doing my own top on my 68 B'cuda when I get to it next decade.

The glass window stays zipped in all the time in my car.

The boot is attached at the front to the rear of the seat. I've never had an A-Body vert, so I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe they mount the same too. The front of the boot slides into a retainer and is a pain to remove or install, so it stays in place. The boot gets either draped over the seat back or (usually) draped back into the well where you can't see it.

As was mentioned, watch what you put in the trunk. Don't put anything under that well. I had a friend blow a window out at Carlisle when he forgot about the chair that had been pushed under the well. He put the top down and it hit the chair and shattered.

I met with the top installer today and put money down so he will order the top I'm going the same as the original which looks to be the same color white as my seats. I have in the box a brand new white back glass window which i brought in to show him and he told me that it was the wrong material for my car which the color white was bright white and as far as i know it was the same color white top that was on the car when i got it. The car went through a restore back in the early nineties and had a new top put on it but it was never finished and pushed out into a open lot where it sat until i resuced it three years ago it was almost melted into the ground when i picked it up. It is a long story how i ended up with the car but in the end it has come out nice so, this spring will be the first time the car has seen the road since the early nineties. Thanks for all the input

Is the bottom of the glass curved or straight. An old-timer told me to watch that on replacement tops.

oops - Might be different on Barracuda Vs Dart. But on the Dart the top material that is attached to the bottom of the of the glass follows the line of the trunk valance.
