Am thinking of swapping an NV4500 into the now gas/ 5.9/ automatic '01 2500. This may not happen depending on when/ if the estate sells and how that goes
I recently picked up a close ratio GM NV4500, 4x4 box. A transmission guy locally says I can swap to either a Dodge or GM tail housing, but the housings are hard to find. Evidently the diesel shafts/ housing are different, so I guess? I need to stay with gas
I don't see that it matters whether I go GM or Dodge tail, as I have to build a drive shaft, anyhow. I don't care about slip yoke as that can be built onto the drive shaft.
And I'm pretty sure I can adapt the GM front/ mount/ input to the Dodge. I may just pick up a steel scattershield so I can hack at that LOL
