The Draggy uses a high speed GPS, I believe it operates at 25hz or 25 measurements/s, that’s how it gets such accurate results. It’s pretty impressive. For comparison your smart phone GPS only operates at 1hz.

I don’t know that it would know of any change in elevation. Ask the manufacturer.

The Dragy reports changes in elevation during run. My car ran a 10.0 when I drove it off a cliff!!!

According to the internet, The Dragy device calculates altitude by comparing the height of the vehicle's GPS position to a reference point, typically sea level.
