Why doesn’t my Plymouth Duster have a passenger side mirror?

Yep, they were always placed in the wrong spot due to the vent windows. I have seen people put them on then can't open the vent window! Learn to live without them, just that simple. Why not put a backup camera on and just fuse your neck bones together...

Not sure how a pass one would work in our dart. We have one just never drilled for and installed it.

On my modern cars I always use that bitch. Love that passenger side mirror. My Honda even has a camera that is awesome on the passenger side mirror. I can manually turn it on or it will come on with my tight turn signal automatically. :)

My 65 Barracuda came with inside mirror only. No outside mirrors and never drilled.

I have seen the standard mirrors on both sides so I don't think it was only a sport mirror option. Most who optioned the second mirror probably stepped up to the sport mirror option. Actually, my 73 swinger had the standard mirrors on both sides.

Replace your small A body rear view with a larger B or C body one.
      It makes a big difference.
Use that and the driver's door mirror to keep track of everyone around you at all times..
Always watch your rear especially when starting to brake.

Always glance over either shoulder before changing lanes.

      It's to make double sure.
(This has saved me numerous times when someone got up beside me into my almost blind spot around the C pillar or came up fast)

On a side note, many times when someone is tailgating me, I reach up and touch my rear view.
      Maybe even adjust it.
If noticed that many times they will back off because they know I'm watching them.

I don't think a passenger door mirror is much help with these tips.

Had a Chrysler 300 as a rental last week. Not only did a yellow triangle appear in the mirror when someone was on either side of you but the car steered it's self! It sesnses the lane lines an steeres the car! At first I thought "what great alignment, I hardly have to correct" It was when I felt the car steering wheel tug a bit that I realized what was going on. I literally let go of the wheel (just loosened my grip but kept my hands around the wheel and the car steered through the turn! It did, after a short period give me an alarm and the dash said "place hands on wheel) and the car slowed down. Scary business.

      thats nothing new
i used to have an old voyager that did the same thing, if i was on the highway, and my exit came up, i simply had to touch the brakes and the van would steer itself down the right hand off ramp

Lol, You're right. I've had plenty of cars that did that. Wonder if that was on the option list.

I drove a granada once...gotta love ford power steering...

that had 20 times the power in one direction.....and zero power in the other...

that was a fun 50 mile trip.

I added dual sport mirrors to my Duster. I only had the one round one. They are( authentic reproduction) super nice. Just measured and I think I used a little hole saw and drill bit. Came out beautiful

My dart has 2 side mirrors, can't see jack squat out of the passenger side one no matter how you adjust it....

In most states only 2 mirrors are required by law. Think of all the tradesman Van's with solid back doors? You need one rear view and driver side or no rear view and two side mirrors.

I had a 1956 Chevy 150 that had only a driver side sun visor. I researched it and yup, passenger side sun visor was optional.!

Passenger side mirrors on cars with wing vent windows always seemed oddly placed. Too far forward you can’t see much in them and probably can’t open the wing vent fully, too far rearward they look strange. Is yours in the way of the vent?

Mine is at the end of it's adjustment and I can see just ok with it. I can get the vent open probably half way.

I almost failed my drivers test in my grandpas 65 Coronet because of no hazard lights, and it also had no passenger side mirror.

I learned to drive & parallel park in a 1 ton chevy box body truck, side mirrors only!
My Valiant had some aftermarket mirrors on both sides when I got it. After paint I used these repop tri-five Chevy mirrors. The passenger side has a convex mirror.
Note that the passenger side is mounted about 2" further back than the driver side to clear the windshield post from blocking the vision, and the vent window does open. I was told that passenger side mirrors were a dealer option as part of a towing package.

The passenger side mirror on A bodies is 100% useless. I believe it was actually specified for the passenger by Mopar in those years.

all the right side mirror does is let you see the next piece of Japanese crap that's going to cut in front of you at the light. Besides that the only time I miss it is parallel parking it's much harder to judge where the curb is to keep from scuffing your tires.

The first car I bought by myself was a '79 Mustang, and it did not have a passenger mirror until I got one from a salvage yard and installed it.

You can get "objects in mirror are closer....." glass for a LOT of classic mirrors.

My '70 Duster never came with a passenger-side mirror, kind of freaked me out at first because I learned to drive in a '03 Chrysler minivan and got used to using outside mirrors. But I was able to get used to the Duster pretty quickly and haven't had a problem in the 14+ years I've had the car. I do angle my inside rearview mirror slightly to the right to give a better view out that side of the car but I never feel like I can't see enough around me when driving. The c-pillar blind spot isn't as big as it seems and I can always spot someone on my right pretty quickly with a quick glance over my right shoulder.

The backup cameras and blind-spot-warning lights on newer cars are nice but the irony is the gov started mandating those because side and rear visibility is so piss-poor in cars made after about 2010, even if you try to turn your head and look around you can't see shit! Crossovers are the worst IMO but there isn't much about those in general that isn't terrible.
