Will 255/70 fit on a 72 dart

I picked up 2 prostars this weekend at a swap meet 15x8 with 4.5 bs. They are wrapped with practically new 255/70r15 tires. Paid $250 for the pair (back 2 only). I have done my research and understand 255/60 will fit but was not sure if the 70s would rub. The guy told be he had them on his 70 dart with no mods.

My setup will be an 8.8 rearend swap with offset hangers. Thoughts?

i have them on my 68 cuda with 8 1/2 wide with 4 1/2 bs and off set ss springs. they may rub on the inside wheel well but the tire is so big that it is very close to the front qtr panel .if you try and move the rear back for clearance then your shocks may it your gas tank.at least for me. I like the look of the 70 series tire it fills the wheel well. i was thinking of going with a narrow 235/70 with a smaller diameter tire to get the clearance
