Is there a way to get the wiper transmission to free up or is it best to replace these. It will move but is really tight. They are out of the car.

there are wiper pivot kits that include grease fittings. The pivot assembly has a short bronze bushing in each end with open cavity between where water generates rust. Since we need to drill a hole for the grease fitting we can soak the assembly in evaporust or similar to clean. Most of the forces are on the drivers side pivot so natrually most of the wear is there. If the bushings are severely worn the steel shaft will have some wear in it too. This causes the wipers to run noisy. The pressure from wiper arms is one sided. Rotation is only 180 degrees back and forth instead of full rotation, so the wear is one sided. The 2 bolt pattern allows us to turn the housing 180 degrees so wear in the shaft runs on a less worn side of the bushings. It helps reduce shaft rock and noise.
Your linkage pivot points also have bronze bushings. Those should have grease and felt washers.

Are the felt washers available.
Thanks for your help
