I have a dilema. I bought a house with a garage in May and I have a Duster. I am terified of spiders and recently found a black widow in the garage "significantly bigger" in size than one posted a while back in a thread for things found in a Mopar. This sucker was huge and I parked my car outside because I am now scared of them nesting in my car. I torched the spider, but now I can't stop thinking about it. The last thing I need is to be driving down the road and see one crawling around in the car and I definitely will get in an accident. Needless to say, I nearly wrecked a perfectly good pair of underpants. So, my one solutions is possibly encapsulating the car with plastic like creating a "plastic garage" if you will to guarantee no entry by the heathens. Plan B is keep the car outside as it needs paint anyway. I have read members suggestion Damp Rid for moisture control and I have that covered. Any suggestions or tips woul;d be great.

Im sorry, but I have to laugh. I think spiders are cool. Anyway, the best thing to do is get some good spider spray and spray around your whole foundation and inside the garage. Then I would get a few bug bombs and spray them in there. Once you start working in there, they should somewhat quit coming in. They don't like people. Anyway, good luck.

Just call Billy the Exterminator!! Lol!! It might be cold up here but at least the things that can kill us are bigger than us.

Also, keep a can of brake cleaner with the spray tube attached handy.

It will kill anything just about instantly...ants, wasps, hornets and even rattlesnakes.

I can't remember who makes them, but they do sell those car "bags" that you put on the floor, then drive your car "in" and zip up the bag to form a seal. I believe they are moisture tight, and should be spiderproof as well. Check the big name car cover companies, I think you could find them there. I don't think they have any garage sized ones though!!!LOL!!! Geof

LMAO,Billy ya hes the man. Ok back to your dilemma You could get a portable shelter like mine, works for me.Now get back in there and fight that dam spider.

Sorry, man, but a Duster is a pretty cool place to live. Chances are that a car stored outside will be just as tempting as a garage. Maybe you should just conceed it tepmorarily to the crawling nasties, then bug-bomb the crap out of it in the spring? I almost wrecked my vette when a MOUSE ran up my leg. If you can't beat em... poison them.

Ive seen a "bubble" for cars at the carlisle swapmeet/carshow. Im pretty sure they are air tight. If the price of one of those makes you fall on the ground, you might want to check and seal up any open cracks or anything that bugs could crawl in then bomb the crap out of the garage.

Yeah I know what you mean. I don't like spiders at all. Went to grab some paper towels from a roll and there was a big one sitting on the roll. One shot of brake clean did him in.
This time of year they come in looking for a place to lay eggs. Keep on the lookout for suspicious webs that are tightly knit. Could be a egg sack. Good luck!

Yep, I saw the bags for like for $179 online. Drive in..Zip up. Currently looking for coin to finance this life saver

Yeah, saw those also, but for the life of me, I cant remember their name and I do remember they were pricey. I'll probably get the zipper bag ones.

You are lucky in VA. When I lived in the Mojave Desert of CA, black widow spiders were everywhere. They would drop in front of me from behind the garage peg board. My wife found a large scorpion under the boys bed. I left a Dodge Aries parked outside too long and field mice made a home in the trunk. Even worse is FL with the flying cockroaches.

I HATE bugs! at least living in the city the crack heads are big enough to hit with a stick

Did you ask the spiders to pay rent or move out?
Take control of your garage. Outside is no place for a Mopar even if it does need new paint.

Spiders, schmiders...I was cleaning behind a pile of parts in the barn where my car is stored, and found a six foot snake skin!! I sure hope he hasn't crawled up under my dash!!

My neighbor bought his wife a wrecked Jeep Cherokee and had it fixed..she got to drive it after 6 months in the body shop, as she was driving a copperhead crawled out of the defroster duct.
Good luck with the spiders...

Don't overlook the Brown Widow Spider, usually found in the same
areas as the Black Widow.. The egg sac has little spikes on it
while the black widow egg sac is smooth. The web is a hodge podge
of strands everywhere where the garden spider is symetrical design.
Black Widows are more agressive when protecting their egg sac and the
Brown ones will shy away, however, the Brown Widow is more poisonous.
