Hello, Well I recently bought a 69 Barracuda and love it! However one thing is really bothering me, temp gauge and gas gauge do not work. I did a visual inspection and all I can see is that they are disconected or missing some type or regulator.

I've been searching around the web and the forums and did find some wiring diagrams and other temp and gas gauge related threads, however not an actual reference as to which wires connect in which pins or what is exactly missing back there :?

Does someone has a picture of the back of your gauges already connected and fully functional or an electrical diagram that is comprehensive and can show which color wires connect were on the back of the gauges?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about Barracudas. Do you have a Rally dash? If you do, the regulator MIGHT be build INSIDE the fuel gauge. The key is

1--if the fuel gauge ony has 2 studs, the regulator should plug into the circuit board

2--if the fuel gauge has 3 studs, the regulator is inside.

If you are patient and careful, you can bend/ disable the internal one and wire in a solid state replacement.

There may NOT be a diagram for the cluster, as many shop manuals only went as far as the connector.

But you can easily trace it The wire colors should be the same:

Somewhat useful, not always complete diagrams from MyMopar

Look at the shot at the bottom. Don't go by the connector, unless your's is the same. The wire COLORS tell the story

Coming TO and LEAVING the cluster proper is:

1--to fuel ga sender g4-18 dark blue

2--right turn indicator d9a18tan

4--dark blu /tr brake warn. lamp power feed

5--to oil warning sender / oil gauge sender g6 18grey

6--to brake warning light switch black / tr

7--and or separate connector dimmer controlled inst lamp e2 18Orange

8--to temp sender g2-18violet or black, probably violet

10--switched 12v input to limiter g1-18black

switched 12v ign to oil warning lamp g518dark blue

separate connector left turn d10a 18light green

separate connector hi beam indicator l518red

If you get the cluster out you can easily follow this on th back of the PC board, you can see the board circuit traces and where they go.

One of the studs from each gauge will go up to a connector pin separately. You can id them from the diagram, these will be the sender connections

The remaining stud from each gauge will go to the voltage limiter socket, or if you have a Rally cluster with the internal regulator in the fuel gauge, one of the studs on the temp and oil gauge will go to that third stud on the fuel gauge.

One of the remaining studs on the fuel gauge will go to a separate pin for the sender, and the last will go to switched 12 v feed coming IN.

I can hand draw you a general diagram if needed, but I'll need a good clear photo of the rear of your cluster to properly explain. Somebody like Redfish might already have such

I have a 69 Barracuda and can tell you the regulator is most definitely built into the fuel gauge. I used a 7805 regulator and it's been working for several years now.

Thanks guys, I have not been able to check/diag due to lack of time. Those wiring diagrams and links are golden.
Ill keep you guys updated.

both those gauges are connected to the circuit board directly through there mounting stud/bolts , the regulator is built into the fuel gauge and if it is shot it probably took the temperature gauge with it ,they usually fry both the temp and oil gauges when they go , contact Ben at DemonIVR.com he removes the regulator and restores the fuel gauge on a core charge basis along with supplying a new external regulator . Of course the temp might just be disconnected at the engine or have bad sender . I know I put new circuit boards in mine before the new fuel gauge and regulator arrived for mine and I fried both my temp and oil gauges doh !
