After seeing a video of Motor Trend's latest race and the Ford Fiesta ST running a 14.9 second E.T. at 94.6 mph with a 197 horsepower turbo boosted four cylinder, I suddenly realized our Mopar forced induction brethren have the right idea. My new (then) stock 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner never broke out of the 15 second bracket. Why do we spend so much time and money on pistons, camshafts, intake and exhaust mods when a simple turbo could almost double our horsepower overnight (and preserve excellent gas mileage)? My spouse is always snickering about how I like to do everything the hard way. Don't tell me she has been right all these years! I wonder why we all don''t wake up and just slap on some forced induction if we really want to go fast, and go fast quickly?
