Just got a call from the machine shop, my 416 stroker is ready to be picked up. I don't have an itemized breakdown, but the total bill is $2212. This includes the normal hot tank, magnaflux, boring, honing, freeze plugs and cam bearings. But it also includes installing four cylinder sleeves, zero decking the block, line boring, neutral balancing the stroker crank, clearancing the block, and assembly of the short block. They also had to 'clean up' the brand new Eagle H-beam rods. Oh yeah, and the machine shop supplied Federal Mogul 3/4 main and Clevite 77 rod bearings, ARP main studs, Speed-Pro chromoly piston rings, and Cloyes double roller timing chain. Don't tell the shop, but I was expecting it to be a little more than that.

Greg, sounds like you are on your way! :)

BTW, there is no such thing as a "chromoly piston ring". All rings are cast iron or ductile cast iron. Then you can get them with a chrome plating or a moly coating on the wear face.

You are absolutely right. That should have been Plasma Moly piston rings.
