Made in South Korea. That tears it for me.
 
Blocks have different metallurgy depending on strength needed. A Detrot Diesel DD15 would require a different strength alloy than a VW 2.5.

In your opinion why do you think early Hemi prices are so high? i mean even cores are sky high.

Cause so many of them have been grenaded from racing through the years. They only made the 392 for two years so they were limited to begin with.
 
Pretty cool. I wonder what the market is for these? The article mentions "enthusiasts". Traditional hot rods, nostalgia dragsters? Must be some kind of demand for these.

The 392 was sold as original equipment in the 1957-’58 Chrysler New Yorker, ’57-’58 Chrysler Imperial, ’57 Chrysler 300C, and ’58 Chrysler 300D, but its legend has lived on since in the eyes of Mopar enthusiasts.

I disagree. He didn't miss the mark of helping the missing "LA" or B/RB blocks, race blocks or not. He aimed for a completely different target.
 
Agree with rumble. These are not gonna be cheap. Entirely different market than "us lowlifes" wanting a piddly little SB LMAO.

Drive hemi prices down? Well maybe not. These new blocks will send people looking for accessories, heads and other 392 parts LOL
 
I E-mailed them, no SB in the works maybe a 426 after the 392 rollout. The Ritter block is available if you got the scratch!
 
they already have all the other parts to build a classic 1st gen hemi engine. The block was the only thing missing for a complete package for the hot rodding crowd.

ummm I think your calculations are wrong on the nodularity should be 8% :glasses7:

YES... you are right.... only MOPAR is good at manipulating that.... high demand for hemi...so they slowly make them and release them keeping them at a high cost...its total bullshit. ALL mopar parts are crazy high... cranks, pistons, heads etc.... i hate to cuss here.... but FORD and CHEVY actually MEET demand and the costs are low.... for gods sake all the parts are made out of the same metals....drives me batty that if you build a mopar be prepared to pay double the cost for parts.....:wack:
