Let’s see some of the projects or completions from some of our 30 something or below members. This includes future hobbyist not quite able to drive yet that may have something that dad or grandpa is going to hand down. I think it’s good to give them some recognition in that they are the future hobbyist that going to keep it going.

I brought this home almost 7 years ago when I was 15 and have been enjoying it ever since. New upholstery up front, carpet, POR 15 floors, side stripe, reconditioned vinyl top, TTI headers, MSD ignition, Bigs carb, SS springs, clutch, rear gears, and whatever else I missed. Drove it all through high school and now college as a nonwinter daily. Lots of fun times and many more to come. Ran 13.01 @ 106 second time out. Didn't do any tuning that day because it ran very consistent and won my bracket. 12s this year for sure.

Started working on my 1965 Dart in June 2018 at 24 years old. This is my first project car, so have had a blast learning the basics.

Father-in-law had the car sitting in his yard for at least ten years before I got to it. I was able to get it home last year, and hope to continue to make progress.

Was planning on getting a 273 back in my car this year, but found out we have kid #2 coming in July-August. No harm. Patience is a good thing.

Just started a restoration thread here: 1965 Dodge Dart Charger (?)

            Might as well post mine.
I bought my 70' duster in January this year from Chris Birdsong. He was helping a family liquidate their impound yard and this one came up for sale amid a TON of 72-76's. I had just recently followed him because I knew he posted mopars for sale at prices that they should be worth. (as in not the typical internet classic car "only one with", "has rare options" "one of one" sale.) So the day after I followed him he posted this for sale for $1900. (slant 6, am radio, manual brakes, manual steering, no a/c, stripper model) The ONLY option that it had was V5X protective side molding.
Anyway, I was the first to respond on Wednesday and I picked it up that Saturday.
Cleaned it out, dug around the interior, found all the rust, everything you do when you get a car that has been sitting for 41 YEARS. After doing a whole bunch of work including putting in a new starter, new ignition and turn signal switch, and rebuilding the distributor and carb, I got it to fire up and idle.
It is currently on jack stands getting new brakes, reupholstered seats, new trunk floor/gas tank mounts, and fluids. Then a friend has matching blue and yellow California plates I am going to get re-registered on my car.

31 is close enough to 30...had it for 2 years now.

How I got it and where it is now. Don't mind the mismatched spark plug wires those are just to annoy @72Dart6pack and all the other purists :poke::lol:

You have a very good looking dart. Did you replace the vinyl top yourself?

Thanks! It's been a bunch of fun.

Yes I did... its not perfect. The top was brand new but it sat in the box in the trunk for 7 years before I installed it. I also didn't take out the front or rear windshield. It looks good enough until I can afford to get the body work done professionally.

I also want to build a stroker and rebuild the transmission again w/ maybe a manual body VB.

It looks enty good enough. I asked because I'll need to do mine at some point, its fairly thin. I agree on a stroker. I've got one all planned out for mine. Just don't have the 6k+ to throw at it

My sons aren't even young guns anymore (the youngest is 35)...

But, here is my youngest when he was in high school with his 440/4sp Dart convertible. Yup, he still has it. Might be running again by the end of the year... SF 2003 21.JPG

Most know my junk by now. '74 Scamp, bought the car when I was 15 and it's still an ongoing project at 23 (are they ever really done though?). Basic 318/A-833/8.25.

He was a pretty responsible kid. He also drove the 1987 TII/5sp Daytona Shelby Z quite a bit...He thinks he won't let his own son (who is 3 now) drive it when he is a teenager...

Well if 34 still qualifies as young, here’s mine.

more details in the thread linked in my sig but it’s a 1974 Dodge Dart swinger, 440/T56/Dana60 full Gerst suspensioned car. With just another couple days of welding, she’ll be ready for the sanding, body fill and primer phase with hopefully paint by fall 2021.

He does not have spark plugs wires that match. Just random ones he has had laying around.

He's talking about my mismatched spark plug wires.

No I bought 2 sets. And burnt wires from both sets
