ZZ Top's Eliminator Hot Rod has to be one of my favorites, still think its cool and has style even today. I remember as a kid, I had the model kit, always thought the band and car were so badda$$...still do :glasses7:

The car ,that turned me on to street rods. . Such a sweet ride. Take it,over Cadzilla any day. The build,was started74/75 . Don Thelan pieced it together..
 
is that thing a steel body?always wanted the model kit,prob would have ended up the hemi powered eliminator....
 
I always remembered the "Fat fender Fords" from the 80's as well, must have been a Cali thing....very cool, the old Hot Rod mags had them, also little cartoon drawings of them cars with wider fenders :glasses7:
 
Great car, defined my younger days in SoCal,...still have a copy of the album sleeve hangin in my shop...
 
Anyone near Cleveland can see the car sitting in the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

The car was actually featured along with one of the girls from the video at the 1980 Car Craft Street Machine Nationals I Syracuse. It was in one of the buildings at the fairgrounds and the girl was going to be there at like 11:00 and by the time I got there the building was jammed. I was waiting to get in when someone tapped me on the shoulder to get thru and it was the ZZ Top Girl. This time it paid to be late.
 
Back in ...I think 82 it was it Memphis, I have the Key chain some where I got that day.
It was at an inside car show all roped off, a beautiful car for sure.
 
I was working concert security in the 80s and worked their dressing room back stage for ZZ Top. I was a car nut and really liked the Eliminator car. Anyway I took my issue of Hot Rod Magazine and got the guys to sign it. I still have it today packed away. I should get some of that stuff out and display it.

tv dinner there's nothing else to eat. lol loved the car and the music.
 
For a very very long time after names like Britney what's'ername and Justin Beeeeeesomething have been permanently forgotten, people will still listen to ZZ
