Green flash sunset

The green flash is an optical phenomenon that you can see shortly after sunset. It happens when the sun is almost entirely below the horizon, with the barest edge of the sun – the upper edge – still visible. For a second or two, that upper rim of the sun will appear green in color.

Green flash sunset

Huh, never heard of that. But as soon as the sun went down the wind picked up and it got cold so we went in to start drinking. So in a few hours everything will look green.

This was the last picture I took so maybe 30 seconds before the green flash. Must have just missed it.

Looks like I'm starting the new year with no water. Seals must have gone out on my water pump. Let's hope it's not a sign of my year to come.

We’ve had record rainfall the last week. Today was the first clear day in in about the last 8 days. I think our December total for rain was near 10 inches. Normal for a year is just less than 3”.
