I am beginning to dislike the new Dodge Dart. Not because of what it is rather because of web searching. As I have a project underway I search the web often to get ideas or research someting.Use to be able to type in Dodge Dart and got all the old stuff you wanted now all I see is the new ones

Have not seen one, don't want to. Don't care how "good" of a car it is, if it does not even remotely resemble the "real" Darts, any generation of them, it should not share the name.....

I would think typing in the date first (ex. 1969 Dodge Dart) ... as opposed to just typing in 'Dodge Dart' would alleviate some of this... just sayin...

Yes that's what I have been doing but miss alot of stuff and the new one still pops in

I dont think I would let it get to you though... I mean I search for 69 Dart stuff all the time and get bombarded with all differant years.. The amount of time it takes me to sift through the stuff I dont want to see isnt all that great... it is what it is I guess lol

Thought about getting one for the wife, but I,ll give them a few years to work out all the bugs.

When you type in your search words add -2013 at the end. Doesn't eliminate all of it but keeps most of it out of your search results

So the the new Dart debate, again begins LOL ... heres my only problem with statements such as this... what 'real Dart' are you referring to the new Dart resembling?... the 1st gen Dart (1961)? .. the 2nd gen Dart (1962, and a B body to boot.. and in my eyes the ugliest Dart ever built) .. the 3rd gen Darts (63-66)... or the 4th gen Darts (67-76)?? None of these generations of Darts really resemble the other.. in fact, not really at all.. Im assuming most people glorify the 67-76 Darts (and even then probably 67-72 more than anything).. but truth is again, the generations dont resemble each other.. so my argument that I have posted in other new Dart threads is this.. had the Dart generations continued on through the years, it probably would've ended up looking just like it does, and being the way it is through the advancements in fuel economy, technology, changing times, public interest, stylistic changes in era's... etc... It is what it is.. the 'glory days Dart' is gone.. thats what we're here for, to keep them alive and to enjoy the history and fun, of what was, at that time, the cheapest form of transportation in the Dodge line..

Let me clarify.......it does not look like or have anything in common, besides the name plate, of ANY generation (which in my first post I believe I did mention) You can ramble til the cows come home about anything you chose, but if you think that the New Dart looks like any Dart from yester year I would suggest you stop drinking the bong water. Not looking to argue with you over the merits of new cars or what we are here for. Let me repeat myself, the New Dart is not an a-body. It has absolutely nothing in common, other than than a plastic name plate with any Dart, made by Dodge. Think that is pretty simple to understand....

I judge each car for what it is and i'm old enough to not fall for a marketing ploy. Lazy people trying to get us boomers to fall for a name plate. Nothing wrong with the new Charger, Challenger or Dart, they are what they are. But don't insult my intelligence.

Maybe because in actuality, its a Fiat Dart.

Chrysler is long gone and it is what it is..

Yea... I knew better than to start talking about this subject again.. and did it again anyways... my bad... And the cracks about my 'rambling' and that I should 'stop drinking the bong water' were needless, but hey whatever.. so now its my turn to clarify.. first.. I never said the new Dart resembled any generation of previous Dart.. (which I believe was part of my original point, since NO generation of Dart ('real' or otherwise) resembles the other.. I never claimed the new Dart was an A-body (In fact im pretty sure I didnt designate a body class for it at all) .. and I asked what 'real' Dart you were referring to when saying the new Dart doesnt resemble the 'real' Darts.. you did in fact say 'any generation', again my bad.. I probably just didnt ask the question right, (drinking the bong water does that) .. I guess the question was, what about it doesnt resemble any previous generation? the outward appearance? wheelbase? the fact that it doesnt come in a 2 door, or there is no V8 option? I think that was more what I was going after.. since again, outward appearance wise, none of them resemble each other...

I was not looking to argue with you either, (or anyone else for that matter) discuss... yes... argue ..no.. but again, I should know better after the 17 other threads about the new Dart that I got involved in, to even bother posting at all... so again... my bad... carry on...

Its actually an Alfa Romeo Giulietta which has pretty good reviews. Yes, Alfa is part of the Fiat group but it's not Fiat. don't call a chevy a buick.
I'll take a well built euro car over anything from japan korea or china any day of the week.

It doesn't have to. They're not remaking a 70 dart. They're making a 2013 dart.

That's like saying a 69 corvette isn't a "real" corvette, because it doesn't look like the very first year.

Or that a 70 plymouth fury isn't a "real" Fury, because it doesn't have tail fins.

If they want to give one of their cars a "throwback" design, that's all well and good. If not, that doesn't mean it's not a real car.

Do I like the new dart? Nope. Does that mean it's not a dart? Nope.

It's a fiat Alfa or whatever. Just as foreign probably a lot more foreign then a toyota or Honda. Screw that thing. Chrysler died many years ago. Only thing left is the lame *** name plate.

I sat in a new Dart at Carlisle and actually fit. I stand 6'5" and weigh in at 225 so there aren't many smaller cars I fit in. Now, I'm not saying I'd like to take a 4 hour ride in it but around town it'd be comfortable.

I'm not hatin on any Chrysler product. Period.

Paulie, I have six vehicles, 4 American, 2 German and all are fine running and clean and all are over 20 years old. As far as Alfa, Chrysler and even Ferrari, they are all part of Fiat..
