How long did it take to complete your car, from start to finish, the day you bought it/started tearing into it and the day you finally pulled it out on the road and drove it?

Not finished yet, bought it in 2010, need to put 1/4's, strip the roof and trunk lid.
I only work on it in the winter, because I hate doing body work in the summer.
Did get it running this spring.

It took me 2 years for the first spin and another 2,5 years to finish it as i want to have it and drive it again

One year to get it to the driving stage, but another 9 years to the good engine and paint stage.

Well..... The Fury's been on the road for 12 years, took 5 years to get it there and still have not gotten the seats done. By the time I get around to getting them done, the car will need a little body and paint work....

Jake's car was done in 2.5 years.

Back between no girlfriends after high school, my road runne was done in 9 months....

Now- if the question is how long did it take you to get her going good enough to be a daily driver and looking decent that's different all together...

yeah yeah i know. We're never truly finished with him, but yeah, you know what i mean

Finished the Comet in 6 years-it is a finished car.
Been working on the barracuda 7+ years now and I am about a year out yet.
Takes longer when you do everything twice;-)

About 2 years of actual work. Took about 3.5 years total with stints here and there up to 6 months driving it and not working on it.

Bought mine 6 years ago , not really finished yet . I feel likei it's been forever , but from start to finish it was a learning experiences , because I had no idea what the hell I was doing .Also it's never gonna be finished lol

It took me the winter months after I brought it home to get it so I could drive it.

I have been working on it since 2008, and have at least another year maybe two before I can stick a fork in it.

Mine is a drive and work in progress.

I'm already looking for another. I need my head examined. :D

I'm already shopping for my daughter's first project...shes's 19 months and already says she wants a 68 cuda.....(no joke, if you ask her what car she wants, she'll go to her toy box and pick up a 68 cuda hotwheels and bring it to you and say "cuda daddy".....much to my wife's amusement/fear

How cool is that?!?!

Bought my car in 1993. Still working on it because the things I did in the 90's are getting worn out.

My Valiant took me three years before I got done, then I sold it. I bought the 'Cuda 5 months ago and haven't touched it. I really think their never done.

Have had mine 14 years, and it's been through many transformations but it'll never be "done".

In 2000 I got it running over the winter and have been driving it ever since. Needs paint bad but I can't bring myself to pulling it off the street. Sort of has that surviver street brawler look anyway!

About 3 months to put a slant from another car in it, put a new timing chain in, service the tranny, get the SBP drum brakes up to snuff, find and replace the fender and drive it as a beater. Another couple of years to upgrade to 8.75 rear and front disc, Denso A/C compressor, throw some paint and body work at it, new carpet and upgrade to a V-8. Still a lot of things I want to improve.

Mine should be on the road at right about 3 years. Probably another 6 months to be fully done.

But the next project is on deck and I expect that one to go much faster. There was a lot of learning curve, tool acquisition, garage upgrades, and finding of suppliers in those three years.
