Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have seen them in use before. I don't have one. I have done that type of rear without one before tho.

so, I went to get an inspection sticker this morning for the Scamp - got sent away so they can ask a DMV rep if my exhaust is too low.. the guy took pictures and said he would let me know - grrrrr
say what? what does that mean? How can you have too LOW of emissions

wth? there's a law governing that?!
I don't know - but he was real concerned that if he passed me and I got caught and it wasn't legal that his shop would get shut down... I learned a long time ago, never push the inspection guy too hard.. they can make getting a sticker a LOT less fun than it already is. I "argued" (more like plead) my case, but it was 100% pleasant.. and didn't do me any good.

My guy here is also a friend and I do not try to get by with him. He gets spot checked a few times a year and I was there once. Real paper pushers there for sure.

yea - I wouldn't want to be THAT GUY who gets them shut down... play the game, it'll be all good eventually

If you have a rust hole in the body it fails here! You definitely do not see to many beaters around for sure.

Inspections are pretty lax here, but I always make sure my **** will pass before I take it in.
me too - pretty close to pissed off about really - I busted my *** getting that thing ready - the good thing here is he sent me away without taking the old sticker off or my $$ so I can still drive the car - if he had put an R (rejection) on it I wouldn't be allowed to - an R on an older car means safety fail

If you put 'Antique' tags on a car in Texas, it is exempt from safety inspections. But you're only suppose to drive in parades, or to car shows, or for car club meetings, or for maintenance.... So you can kind of get away with anything?

I think it's similar here. @halifaxhops are you running antique plates?

yea - I had been considering changing plates - - probably have to re-register it, but the rules are similar here - - maybe it's time to go that route...

What sucks here is what I have been going through wit the cobalt I get a emission code all the time on a o2 sensor, changed them both a few times it is because of the header. You clear it and then have to drive a while for it to get out of the computer. Deal with that each year.
