72, basket case- put back together, original paint...

Do you really want to know where they all are? That is an impossible question to answer.
Where are all our tax dollars spent?
 
well i cut up a rusty 72 red black interior one in 1980 for the parts and running gear 340 4spd 8 3/4 3.54 l/s . springs , seats , hood all sold to fix others .

U.S 340 Fastback Coupe: 8,700
Total 1972 Demons: 48,580

Uh, they only made 18,978 original 340 Demons. I'd bet you can easily scratch half that number for attrition due to accidents and rust. So you're probably talking about less than 9k cars now left in any condition.
 
I parted a completely rusted out 72 340 car. It was black on black 4 speed. That was one I wish I could have saved. It was just too far gone :(
 
Here ya go original 71 FC7 Plum Crazy 340. Was 1 of 997 factory 3 speed cars but was restored & a 4 speed put in it before I bought it. Lives a pampered life now in Australia.

Are you shopping or just wanting to see pictures ? I am sure that every one here will love to show you pictures of theirs.
 
I just like them and original, also maybe looking for one that would be willing to loan it to a museum this time next year for a,period of time.

A Swiss made 72 Demon 340 survivor, more to read about it in my garage.
Located in Austria, Europe, therefore alas not available for a museum in U.S.

Besides I think, that less than 10% of the HP Demons have survived, including the customized ones.

10% is quite a good rate for a nearly 50 year old - then relatively cheap - high performance car aimed solely to the youth market.
We don't talk about a 300 Hurst Chrysler, but about a cousin of the Duster 340 - and from the 340 Dusters are for sure not 30.000 still alive.
 
Here's mine. All original except paint was red from the factory and SSBC disc brake kit on the front. It even has the original TQ which I have learned to love.

There is one in jackson ohio with a little over 8000 miles .Plum crazy purple with 340
 
Wish I had my /6 back...sold it in '89 it's probably where most of them ended up...
