Stop in for a cup of coffee

Spent the day with dad working on his Barracuda. He hated the shifter that was in the car, it was a POS, so he picked up a Winters Sidewinder. What a great shifter that is. Like glass and all is built very nicely, heavy duty and user friendly adjustments. He has some refining but enjoys the car again and that is most important.

I dig that rear exiting cable. Thinking it would save on the heat damage issue from headers. Don’t suppose you gave any pictures of the routing and install on the under side?

How did you get the 68/7 hood to fit the 69 header panel??

I did not but can maybe next weekend if I go back over. It loops 90 degrees and attaches to the back of the pan and to a bell crank up to the shift arm. Really slick set up. Had to make a new bracket for the kick down so it would work. Cut the quick connect snap in thing off and made a bracket that bolted to one of the tailshaft bolts.

That is how we got the car. Not sure really. He could really use more clearance. A nice semi gloss black 6 pack hood would be really sharp and give the clearance needed.

It appears I finally have my column shift linkage issues sorted out. For whatever reason the column shift lever traveled 3" but the transmission arm only needed 1.5". So I shorted that arm and made some spacers to center the Z bar better and now it doesnt bind and seems to shift into all gears. With that done, I said why not mount up the fenderwell headers for good. Well, I didnt notice some broke the front passengers side stud off flush in the head. WTF... decision to make. Pull the heads?? Any experience trying to drill out and remove on while in the car?? Anyone??

I broke the driver side under the brake booster :BangHead: Tried the 90* angle drill motor briefly. Guess what? It's time for head gaskets:lol:. Took the head to buddy's machine shop for stud removal. He didn't even give me a bad time about all the little scars the drill bit left behind

Well, my day went to ****... Got a call right after breakfast from a hospital in Altoona that my daughter was in an accident. Her and a friend were coming back from visiting my son. Apparently Abby was sleeping, other girl driving. Not much detail yet. Seems they tangled with a truck, hit a guard rail and car landed on its side. Abby is stable and being admitted to a regular room. I talked to her and she sounds good, but has a back injury. Cat scan looks like hairline fracture to a vertebrae and she should have MRI soon. Other girl had a piece of glass in her eye which they removed. Otherwise she was OK and being released. My wife is headed out there. For now I am home with the dog. This sucks. :BangHead:

It depends on where it's located and if you can get a straight shot with a drill...

You may be able to loosen the motor mounts and lift the engine up with an engine hoist until the bell housing hits the trans tunnel to get access to the bolt...

I managed to finish trimming the front hedges today. The only thing left on my to-do list for this weekend is to replace the blown bulb in one of the outdoor garage lights. Good thing too, I’m beat.

I have a front engine plate that isnt bolted down right now. Not sure I can get the engine high enough to get a drill in there. Maybe a 90 deg drill adapter but most I have used had a lot of run out.

Figures...one last little thing to do like changing a light bulb turns into a project.

I went to unscrew the old bulb and the entire socket broke off in my hand. :BangHead:

Now I have to take the entire fixture off the house, take it apart and see if I can repair it since the wires are broken off inside.

Wow that looks great Dave. You can trim up my ratty ewes out front while you're here, you do such a good job.

Was helpin' my buddy do that at his rich old eccentric father in law's house and found four hundreds rolled up and stuffed in the conduit. Ol' Jerome had money hid everywhere. Asked Dan what he wanted to do with it. He said roll it back up and stuff it back in there. Dan knew what side his bread was buttered on; old guy was givin' him and his wife a deluxe brick and steel house. Now that Jerome's gone I oughta remind Dan that was in there. Prob'ly still there.
