Alright i ordered my Stealth heads now i need head gaskets, i might get these.
I would probably go with the Fel-pro gaskets. If the chambers on the Stealth heads are smaller than what you have now, then that will bump the compression up some. Its still in the car, glad i asked. What's alternative that can keep the compression up? Or just get the felpro .039" compressed gaskets?
I think that's the only head gasket they make for a big block.Fel-pro 1009?
I put 1009 on my 413 4.217 bore and it looked perfect on the chamber and on the cylinders. Its not a 440 bore so it works.
Well said....kaboom starts on the top (chamber) side of the gasket. It’s not the bore that bites you. It’s the head chamber. Not many guys think to check that.
....because 99% of all the internet 'fail tales' are due to the installer's lack of proper checking, even though folks usually want to blame the manufacturer. It’s not the bore that bites you. It’s the head chamber. Not many guys think to check that.
That is absolutely true. My Indy heads have a 4.5 inch chamber. So I need to find a gasket for them. My bore is 4.380. KimIt’s not the bore that bites you. It’s the head chamber. Not many guys think to check that.
I’d start with the 440Source head gaskets. They’re $19 a piece and should be just fine with their heads.
