Thanks everyone. I replied to d55dave that I would get some decent pics in the morning. Just got my car back from storage. What he is saying is what I've been suspecting. I have felt all along that this was a newer Magnum motor with older timing cover. Just trying to confirm my thoughts.
Hi , I'm trying to identify my 318 small block. This motor was already installed in my 66 Plymouth Valiant when I bought it. These are some numbers that I recently found very crudely written in some notes that I had taken down at different times.

Well took the car out today. We put some bends on the retainer clips that are there. Much tighter now. drove the car for a couple hours and it is much quieter. No more rattling at least for now. Time will tell. Thanks everyone for your input.
Yes everything tight. even though the old pads looked ok except for where from bouncing around I installed new pads. They are tighter in there now but still not quite right in my opinion. But the noise is gone now. I will see if it stays that way. Going to drive it a little bit before it goes to...
I think the bigger one in the picture above is what I need. So going to look for a brake hardware kit. It is Kelsey Hayes brakes and that type of clip is not there.
