    Proportioning valve leaks

Thank you, I'll have to get me some of that.

    Proportioning valve leaks

they are pipe thread adapters for inverted flare lines. I did not flare them myself, they are manufacturer double flares. There is nothing wrong with the flares because nothing is leaking out of the brake line fittings, the adapter fittings with the pipe thread that go into the valve are whats...

    Proportioning valve leaks

Hey guys, I installed an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve in my Dart, and one of the pipe fittings is leaking. I tightened it as much as possible, still leaks, they are brand new fittings. everything else on it is fine, its just the one pipe fitting. I thought maybe try some Teflon...

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

Don't worry, I'll be documenting all of the work to the car on here. There will be plenty of pictures for ya to look at. Right now I am just in money saving mode. Trying to save as much as possible before spring so that I can do it right once I start putting her back together.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

The Dart has the stock flexplate, and it has a properly weighted converter.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

I took the car for a drive the other day, and I am still convinced that it is in fact the transmission. If you wiggle the shifter around, the tone of the sound changes. Also when going up hill under a load, the transmission starts to slip and the knocking noise starts becoming a terrible...

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

I did, there was absolutely no slop at all, nice and tight. I think my spring/summer project will be tearing it apart and fixing everything on the car. It'll be fun.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

Thats the plan stan, in fact I have a 727 that I am going to freshen up to put in the car instead of the 904 that is in it now. So I was already planning on pulling the tranny at some point, I guess now I have a reason.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

Could it causes noises in other gears though? I'm not sure.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

If it was in the flex plate, then wouldn't it knock just as loud no matter what gear you are in? I'm not saying that I don't believe you guys, but it just doesn't quite add up. Like I said, the knocking is only there in certain gears, which is kinda strange.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

Ok guys, I made a stethoscope and tested all kinds of different spots on the engine for noise. The engine checked out fine. I checked the fuel pump, as you guys mentioned, I checked the valve covers, the heads, none of it was making noise. I even put it on the oil pan just to see if there was...

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

The noise is still there with the covers off, I think it is a valve train issue with number 5. I need to pull the head off at some point and check the valves.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

The tranny fluid looks fine, nice and cherry red like you mentioned. When its in gear, the only difference is that it gets slightly quieter idling, which is probably just because the RPMs go down slightly as you put in gear as well.

Help! Small block 360 has a knocking sound

I changed the oil about two days before the knocking sound started, so it has nice new oil in it. I also already put the STP stuff in it, and that didn't help. Have not cut the filter open yet, I have been having some nasty weather here lately, cant go outside to do much. As far as I can tell...
