I have the following question:
Left side (driver side)
When I screw out the adjuster bolt completely, the adjuster tab goes all the way down (it sinks into the LCA). Now when I pull out the torsion bar, the adjuster tab goes up into a middle position. It keeps on standing "between" the LCA...
Well mate - I wasn`t here to open a thread if it was that easy ;-) And I think I`d have already solved the problem if it made sense.
I am thankful for every tipp and help!
Ahhhhh, ok!
Thank you for your help guys! I will check this out on Saturday or Sunday and hopefully come back with results (positive or negative - we`ll see) ;-)
The ride height on both sides is exactly the same and also the whole car is completely even.
There is also a huge scratch in the left side of the frame but this one seems to be older because it is already covered with dirt and grease.
But on the right side it is totally blank (looks fresh)...
Hahaha - you are great! :-)
The strut rod bushings have also been replaced (see picture above) ;-)
I nearly was 100% sure that the adjuster tab was not set in the right position. But when I released the tension with the adjuster bolt completely and pulled the torsion bar out it came down all...
Hi there,
all bushings, ball joints - and also the idler and pitman arm are new. I replaced them last year.
My suggestion is that the adjuster (the "finger" of the lower control arm) is not in the right position. It is standing to close to the frame. I think I have to pull the torsion bar...
I am driving a 1973 Plymouth Gold Duster, 318 cui engine.
And I agree - telling you that I took the photo from a another thread does not 100% mean that it isn't a photo of my car. I was nearly sure that I wrote in my opening post "this photo is not showing my car" - but I was wrong ;-) Sorry...
