Yea, the ignition control module. The 6AL is aftermarket ignition made by MSD.

I had the same problem with my slant (4 barrel and headers). Turns out the orange box was bad. I put a 6al in it and it really woke up and runs perfect now.

Interesting, never seen one of those before. Looks like you might be able to attach the name plate to a switch from the parts store. If you you are just wanting to work that is.
