right beside the freeze plug I think a 65 273 should have a bolt in the timing cover. 318 no bolt. bolt hole in gasket none in cover or block.

don't down play your stock 920 heads. I have a pair on a 318 that have produced 345 hp on a 318.

None: external look for 360 balance weights, and small diameter, everyone I've tried like that were high stall.

Stock 360 convertor from 71-73 Fury, small 10 1/4 had 2500 stall. I have one in my Dart.

Look down in the carb and move the linkage to full throttle, gas should be seen coming from the accelerator pump nozzles. If not try pouring 1/2 oz of gas down the carb and try to start. Check spark from coil by removing coil wire from dist cap and placing wire about 1/2" from ground a crank...

Odds are it was the one that bolted on with the bottom two bolts of the water pump. If you plan to use an after market vibration damper, you would need a later timing chain cover and a water pump with the inlet hose on the right side. If you are restoring then you need the bolt on pointer or...
